COOL MAN COOL on iTunes!
COOL MAN COOL is now available on iTunes! There is also a rave review of the project by Michael G. Nastos, writing for All Music Guide.
Klaus Voormann project
Recently I had the great pleasure of spending a couple of days recording with Klaus Voormann, the German bass player who befriended the Beatles in Hamburg in 1960, and later played on sessions for John Lennon, George Harrison,Ringo Starr, Randy Newman, Harry Nilsson, and many others. (Klaus also drew the cover for the Beatles REVOLVER album, one of the most iconic pieces of 20th century artwork, in my opinion.) What a total blast! Pianist Van Dyke Parks recommended me for it, and the band was me, Klaus, Van Dyke, and Jim Keltner on drums. That rhythm section was joined by Ringo Starr, Joe Walsh, Don Preston, Inara George, and Albert Lee for various tracks. Paul McCartney sent over his track from England for Klaus and Ringo to play on. It's all for a documentary on Klaus that will include a CD, book, and DVD. So much fun! (At left is Klaus and I with the REVOLVER album cover he signed for me.)
